Look for special event station, 4X0VK, to celebrate the historic train station in Zemach and the Jezreel Valley Railway between October 14-15th. This is a special activity in honor of the Australian light horse battalion that fought in this region during World War I. The Jezreel Valley railway, or the Valley Train, was a rail- road that existed in Ottoman and British Palestine, reconstituted as a modern railway in Israel in the 21st century. It runs from the Mediter- ranean coast inland along the length of the Jezreel Valley. The historical line was a segment of the longer Haifa-Dera'a Line, which was itself a branch of the larger Hejaz railway. QSL via 4X6ZM. 5H, TANZANIA (Update). Simon, XZ2A, posted the following on QRZ.com on September 20th: "Just a short post to update the forum about operations from Myanmar. Although I'm working in Yangon right now (teacher at an international school). I left my rig in Bangkok for the moment. This is because the civil unrest (well, civil war actually) is 'hotting up', with many deaths every day. I don't want to be found in a compromising position with my transceiver, (meaning that the military junta could claim anything, even if the rig is still in its box!). So I'll bide my time until the country is more peaceful and the rule of law is clear. - Simon XZ2A " ZL75, NEW ZEALAND (Special Event).
