3C     – Ersoy, TA2OM has been active as 3C/TA2OM from  Malabo, Bioko Island
         (AF-010), Equatorial Guinea since 19 September.  He expects to stay
         there for one month, “maybe two”.  During his limited spare time he
         can operate FT8 and SSB on the HF bands. He has applied for a local

5R     – Francesco, IK6QON will be active holiday style as 5R8FG  from  Nosy
         Be (AF-057),  Nosy Iranja (AF-057) and the city of  Antsiranana  in
         the northern part of the main island of Madagascar (AF-013) between
         8 and 17 October.  He will operate CW and SSB on the HF bands.  QSL
         via IZ6BRJ.

9J     – Eddy, OE3SEU  has been travelling  through Africa  in his motorhome
         since early June.  After being in  South Africa (ZS/OE3SEU),  he is
         now in Namibia (V5/OE3SEU), and expects to be active as 9J2SEU from
         Zambia  sometime in October.  Activity will be on the QO-100 satel-

DL     – DR45HAAN is the special callsign for  DARC’s Ortsverband Haan (R24)
         to celebrate their  45th anniversary from  1 October 2022  until 30
         September 2023.  All QSOs will be confirmed  automatically  via the
         bureau; direct cards via DL7ET.

GM     – Look for Graham, MM0GHM to be active as MM0GHM/p and MM0GHM/m  from
         the  Isle of Barra (EU-010)  on  1-8 October.  QSL  via  home call,
         direct or bureau.

I      – Pino I8YGZ, Alex IK8YFU, Luigi IU8GUK and  Domenico IW8RAO  will be
         active as ID9Y from  Vulcano Island (EU-017) on  5-9 October.  They
         will operate CW, SSB, RTTY and FT8. QSL only via LoTW and eQSL.

JA     – Look for Kenji, JA4GXS/4  to be QRV from  Ohzu/Otsu Island (AS-117)
         from around 5 UTC on 1 October until around 1 UTC on 2 October.  He
         will operate  CW, SSB and FT8  on 40, 30, 20 and 17m.  QSL via home

OH     – Gaby, OH/DF9TM  and  Frank, OH/DL2SWW were QRV from  Emasalo Island
         (EU-097) on 7-8 September and from Reposaari Island (EU-173) on 14-
         18 September. They have been QRV from Kustavi Island (EU-096) since
         20 September, and will remain there until the 26th. See for

PA     – Operating as PF6SKCC, PG4I will be the  Straight Key Century Club’s
         “Brag Bonus Station”  for the month of October.  QSL via home call.

VK9X   – Stephen, VK3SN will be on Christmas Island (OC-002) from 24 Septem-
         ber to 1 October.  He will be QRV as  VK9XX  (the  Christmas Island
         Amateur Radio Club’s callsign: on 80-10m SSB
         and FT8 “most afternoons and evenings (local time)”. QSL via EB7DX.

VP9    – Janusz, SP9FIH planned to be QRV as SP9FIH/VP9 from  Bermuda start-
         ing on 23 September [425DXN 1636].  Hurricane conditions are possi-
         ble, and tropical storm conditions are expected, on Bermuda by late
         22 September,  which will cause operations  to be delayed  probably
         until 25 September.

ZL     – ZL75WARC  is the special callsign  for the  Whangarei Amateur Radio
         Club (ZL1AM) to celebrate its 75th anniversary from 1 October to 31
         December.  The club is located on  New Zealand’s North Island  (OC-
         036), grid square RF74.

CQ WW RTTY DX CONTEST —> This year’s edition will take place on 24-25 Sep-
tember (from 00.00 UTC on Saturday until 23.59 UTC on Sunday). The objective
is for amateurs around the world  to contact  as many other amateurs  in  as
many CQ Zones,  countries,  continental US states  (District of Columbia in-
cluded) and Canadian call areas as possible on 80, 40, 20, 15 and 10 metres.

IOTA NEWS —> The logs for the  IOTA Contest 2022 island stations  have now
been added to the IOTA database  and are available for QSO matching. Record-
holders who have made IOTA contacts in an IOTA contest after 2003, can claim
credit for  them  without submitting QSLs, provided that the contact details
match.  Go to,  log in,  select  “Add Contest QSOs”
under the “My IOTA” tab, and choose either “Upload Contest Log”  or  “Manual
QSO Entry”. Please note that the following activations  will be added  after
additional information  has been received: VR2UNG (AS-006), BY4XRA (AS-135),
BA4DL (AS-136),  BD4CRN (AS-136),  BH4BFS (AS-136),  BG5BWZ (AS-141),  BY4JN
(AS-150), BG2VIA (AS-158).

OCEANIA DX CONTEST —> The 77th edition of the Oceania DX Contest will take
place on 1-2 October (SSB) and  8-9 October (CW).  Both events will start at
06.00 UTC on Saturday, and end at 06:00 UTC on Sunday.  Complete details can

RI41POL —> Oleg, RD1A is participating in the  North Pole-41 expedition to
the Arctic onboard the  “North Pole”,  a large self-propelled  drifting  re-
search vessel replacing the drifting ice stations built on ice floes. In his
spare time he operates mainly CW as RI41POL. QSL via RN3RQ.

XT2AW —> Harald XT2AW is now QRT from Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.  His full
and final log has been uploaded to LoTW  and is available  on  M0OXO’s OQRS.
“Please  be aware of  a problem  with the online log”,  M0OXO says.  “Harald
merged both his XT2AW log and 9X2AW FT8/FT4 logs in error,  and this log was
uploaded to the OQRS. There are over 8,000 QSOs that need to be manually and
individually removed, which will take a long time”.
